| Woodland's Big House, circa 1834,
is beautifully furnished with period antiques and has nine guests
rooms, all with private baths. You will feel as though you are stepping
back in time when you walk into this authentic antebellum home.
Completely restored in 1998, Woodland is situated on 50 acres and
fronts the mighty Mississippi River, where you can enjoy a walk
along the river levee or do some birding
on the property. Buddy, the resident alligator, is available for
photo sessions most afternoons during the warm months.
A full Southern breakfast is served each morning
between 7:00 and 10:00 AM, depending on your request. Fresh fruit,
fried bread pudding, eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese grits, hash browns,
and eggs benedict are a few dishes you will be served as our guest.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the Spirits
Hall, circa 1883.
If culture, history and the natural world interest
you, Woodland Plantation and Spirits Hall are sure to delight. Woodland
is an ideal venue for couples, families or
corporate retreats.
